Double Sided Tapes for Construction & Abatement
Historically, construction, abatement and remediation jobs involved using two different tapes for different purposes: a masking tape to protect door, window and other surfaces, then a duct tape or other heavy-duty tape to hang poly sheeting used for containment.
Today, we see many contractors opting for double-sided tapes to eliminate doubling up on tape. The double-sided tape makes it easier for contractors to hang poly sheeting by affixing the sheeting directly to the surface. Tapes designed for abatement are typically built with lightweight adhesive on one side, to ensure clean removal on one side, and a stronger tack adhesive on the other side to give a strong bond to the heavier poly sheeting.
Many contractors prefer this method because it saves time and eliminates the need for ordering two separate tapes.
